The National Institute for Older Adults (INAPAM) offers discounts in many areas including products and services. Here in Los Cabos, qualifying seniors, age 60 or older, may enjoy discounts such as 50% off property taxes, 50% off municipal water service, discounts on prescription medicines, and other services.
To take advantage of these benefits it is necessary to apply for the INAPAM card at the DIF office in your area.

Foreign resident requirements for application:
- Identity document: valid passport, the residence immigration permit, or letter of naturalization
- A document that proves your age such as a passport or driver’s license
- Proof of local address such as electricity, water, or telephone bill that contains your updated and complete address and is no more than three months old. If you have a Mexican voter ID (IFE) this will suffice as proof of local address
- 2 recent child-size photos (infantil) either black and white or color
Head over to the local office and receive your card the same day. We recommend taking copies of each of these requested documents with you.
