Acapulquitos surf break, just in front of Cabo Surf Hotel is full of activity – surfers took to the water. From Tuesday the 8th of May to Friday the 11th annual Paskowitz Surf Camp, Surfers Healing, and Red Autismo paddled out together on tandem boards and caught super sweet waves.
Surfers healing is all about a perfect day at the beach – professional volunteer surfers take to the waves accompanying children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ADS). All you can perceive is the laughter and excitement of the children, their families and the surfers. Surf therapy merges the therapeutic elements of the ocean with the liberating adventure of surfing, impacting the lives of individuals from all walks of life. It has become an alternative form of healing which is picking up momentum; it connects people with nature, the thrill of being alive and helps people to find their center. When it comes to children with ADS it gives them skills to cope with stressors, regulate their behavior, build healing relationships, and make positive constructive life choices. Waves are medicinal for the soul, especially for those who need them most.
